Startup Clipper ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by Startup Clipper.
This Privacy Policy applies to our browser extension "Startup Clipper" and its associated website "startupclipper.com" (collectively, our "Service"). By accessing or using our Service, you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to our collection, storage, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
If you use our browser extension without authenticating (i.e., registering and logging in), we collect some information anonymously. The purpose of the extension is to bookmark, tag and share interesting startups. All information about the startups (or other websites) that you bookmark through the extension (i.e., their name, URL, slogan, tags, your rating, and a screenshot) will be stored in the local storage of your browser. Local storage provides web apps and browser extensions with methods and protocols for storing client-side data. The data is thus primarily stored on your machine.
However, some data are also sent to us for the purpose of aggregating data about startups and sharing it with the community or third parties at our discretion. In particular, this includes the name, URL, slogan, tags, and rating of the startups (or other websites) that you save through the extension. It also includes the screenshot of the website that is displayed in the extension and a unique user ID. You will be prompted for your explicit consent to sharing this information when you first bookmark a website. The data will be stored in a Postgres database provided by Supabase (https://supabase.com) on a server designated by them which may be based in any country. To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, by using any of the above, you voluntarily consent to the transborder transfer and hosting of the information described above. We reserve the right to distribute or sell this data in raw or aggregated form to any third party. Thereby we will ensure that the data is fully anonymized, does not contain any personal identifiable information and cannot be traced back to you.
Authentication options are not yet implemented. We will provide further information here as soon as this option is available.
